Open Source Tooling and Best Practices to Improve Vulnerability Management
Vulnerability management, a subdomain of cybersecurity, can be extremely challenging for organizations to implement effectively. Professionals are overwhelmed by thousands of vulnerabilities across complex IT environments, while also trying to navigate dynamics between developers, operations, and business objectives.
This presentation will discuss open-source tooling, such as RenovateBot, Dependabot, etc., that enrich and elevate vulnerability management programs. These tools improve the experience of vulnerability management professionals and the downstream teams they work with: reduction in time to patch, reduction in downstream efforts to patch, etc.
This talk will also touch on change management best practices, as it is the combination of the technical and behavioral implementation that makes the most meaningful impact on organizations.
